Companionship

Companionship services allow clients to have someone they can pour their hearts out to. Sometimes, family members are very busy with jobs and responsibilities, and the home care patient may feel lonely, or neglected. A friendly person dropping by to visit can help alleviate these feelings of loneliness. When situations are not in favour, like when you are ill, or when you take daily medications, and cannot do the same activities you once did, it might make you feel lonely, and depressed. However, the companionship provider can sit and chat with you and talk about things you are interested in like gardens, their grandchildren, or anything that you are passionate about. This certainly would bring a little joy back into your life and make you feel a part of the community. Our companionship services include:

  • Socialisation
  • Playing games
  • Reading a book
  • Letter writing
  • Accompanying the client for a walk
  • Monitoring the person and home for safety
